2008
Northern Michigan NAVHDA Chapter Testing Policies
Only NAVHDA registered
dogs are eligible to participate in a NAVHDA test.
Our August 8th, 9th, &
10th tests will be held in the Traverse City area.
Friday, August 8th is for Natural Ability dogs
only. Saturday, August 9th, & Sunday, August 10th
will include Natural Ability, Utility Prep and Utility
testing.
Our tests are filled on
a first come, first served basis. Test spots will not be
held for anyone, unless I have received your completed
test application and check. Getting on the list for
testing is real easy. Just download a 2008 test
application from the nationals web site at www.navhda.org
fill it out and send it to me with a check made out to:
Northern Michigan NAVHDA Chapter.
If you are not a
member of NAVHDA, the cost is $140 for the Natural
ability test and $160 for the Utility Prep and/or Utility
test. If you are a current member of NAVHDA, the cost is
$120 for the Natural ability test and $140 for the
Utility Prep and/or Utility test. You save $20 on any
test if your NAVHDA membership for 2008 has been paid.
There is an additional $5 service fee for all
out-of-country checks.
Once your completed 2008
application and check has been received, you are on the
list if our test has not been previously filled.
Please note: Do not send
in a test application unless it is complete including the
NAVHDA registration number for your dog. If you don't
have a number, wait until you do.
If your name was on a
waiting list and you were notified of an opening to test,
that opening will not be held for you unless I receive
your completed test application and check. Other people
on the waiting list have also been notified of any test
openings. The waiting list is for notification of
vacancies only. Again, our tests are filled on a first
come, first served basis.
Our chapters
cancellation policy is the following based on the date
that I receive your written cancellation request: if
received no later than 46 days prior to the first test
date of our 3 day testing schedule (i.e. June 22, 2008)
the chapter keeps $25 and the remainder is refunded to
the applicant. All cancellations received from 45 days or
less (June 23, 2008), the applicant will not receive any
portion of a refund.
Your test application is
for a specific dog. Therefore, once your application and
money has been received, substituting of dogs to be
tested is not allowed and our chapters cancellation
policy will apply.
A map to our test area
will be sent by e-mail at a later date. Our tests
start at 7 am sharp. Failure to be at the test site
for the start of our test may result in forfeiture of
your dog being tested and our chapters cancellation
policy will apply.
The Quality Inn of
Traverse City accepts dogs and they are located at 1492
U.S. 31 North and their phone number is: (231) 929-4423.
There are a few other motels (Days Inn, Holiday Inn,
etc.) that also accept dogs.
Lunch will be available at
the test site for a nominal fee.
Please join us for a
no-host dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Detailed
information will be available on each day of testing.
All test birds leftover on
Sunday afternoon are available for purchase at our
chapter's cost.
If you have any additional
questions, please contact me.
